LO2: Planning the Podcast (legal and etical)


Ofcom censor before 9 o'clock as they presume every up at that time are mature enough for the type of programs, before watershed they will be censored.
Our podcast will follow Ofcom Guidelines by not breaking any of their rules and regulations, for example:
Section 1: Protecting the under 18’s.

LO2: Planning the Podcast (Script)

Andrey - Hello and welcome to 3's a crowd!

Will K - A radio show where we talk about random news to make your day a little bit brighter!

Will T - Today on our show we will talk about some stories that intrigued us over the week!

Will K - And also have an interview with our guest!

Will T - But first we will listen to "t-shirt weather" by "circa waves".

Will K - That was a good song. Now its time for our news story 

Will T - I have exploding head syndrome! 

Andrey - Are you alright mate? Should I be taking cover right now?

Will T - Niels Nelson is the sufferer of the syndrome not me. Niels has a loud electric shock go off in his head, but according to scientists his head will not actually explode.

Will K - Well thank god for that, because I was expecting for it to get out of hand and have peoples heads just explode while going down the street. And now we will play "One man can change the world" by Big Sean.

LO2: Planning the Podcast (Content Plan)


LOO-dicrous! Toilet roll in short supply in Barnoldswick" this is a genuine article found on the weird section of 'The Lancashire Telegraph". 

3. This is where we will spend around 8 minutes discussing and playing music with a guest. We hope the guests will be part of band. This means we can ask them about their music and play some. If not we will just discuss music or topics related to the guest. Either way there will be at least one song in this 8 minute section.
4. This will be another 5 minutes on another news topic. 
5. This will be 5 minutes discussing another song chosen by the guest or by the guest, with the song being played.
6. Is the outro, this will consist of a jingle and presenters and speaking.

LO1: Task 2 (Analysing a radio show)

Running Order

This is the runnning order for sheffield live. Talking Balls is a weekly hourly program what is on 6-7 on fridays.

Presenters
The presenter of Talking Balls are Adam Ellis, Joe Winson,  John Hemmingham, Simon Thake and Mr Sweet FA. All of the presenters have a comidic infromal style to them, they speak to the audice by though chatting to each other.


Content
The content is  cheek sports chat show looking at the latest sports news and stories, with both interviews, previews and competitions. As they are a sports show they dont have music unless its a jingle. They have interviews with diffrent people about diffrent topics, also they give news to the listener about what is happening in football though the form of chatting.

The Target audince are Football, Sheffield United & Sheffield Wednesday fans beacause these are the local teams. They are is between 15-45 and the

Programme types

Sheffield live are a local independent, they use the community to produce content audio visual as well as just
audio. There Purpose is to bring the connect the people.
Is owned my Community Media Association what is a non-profit government program, if you like "Sheffield Live!" are a subsidiary.

They produce show what are relevant to the local audience because they is more of a captive audience, this is because Sheffield in certain areas is very cutlery diverse this means they is target audience what may not be catered for.
These are five shows what Sheffield Live! produces:
-1 This is PG
-2 Vancouver Manoeuver
-3 X-rated
-4 Local Talent
-5 Max Chance Show

Genres 

Sheffield Live! have a variety of different  genres their main shows are music and talk shows. Because of the variety of diversity in their target areas, there musics show have lots of different genres  so they can reach the audience. The talk show Talking Balls is a football talk show, were as Africabeat is a music show what plays african music. This is because is Sheffield Live!'s demographics are very diverse. The local radio stations make sure that the genre of what they produce is relevant to local community just like the show Communities Live! this show has different groups of volunteers who produce and present the show each day what discuss local and national politics; music and art from Sheffield; community events, and much more.
Audience Profiles

Sheffield Live! target audience is very diverse because they target these areas:

Sheffield Live! choses to target these areas because they are very culturally diversified this means that it is easy to target these areas as they have a high view rate for nesh shows this is why Sheffield Live! produce the genres what they do.

The Audience profile for Talking Balls are white British males who like football aged 15-45, their spending power is large this fits into the brackets of B,C1,C2,D,E.


Production Process 

Sheffield Live!  have a team what schedules the show this team will work with the produces as they need to know when the show is. The regulatory team makes sure that shows meet Ofcom guidelines to make sure that Sheffield Live! do not loss there broadcast license. The what manages the advertise and sponsors works with the scripting and editorial, they use scripting to slot the advertisements and promotions into shows and editorial makes sure that they is advert in; this is first used in pre-productions as they will need to make the add break to be added into a productions for live broadcast and added after a show has been record like for a podcast.

Different teams like the scripting and presenters work together as shows evan if they are improvised they will have certain subjects or sponsors they have to mention. Editorial will work with the scriptures as they will add Vox-pops to live broadcast these need to be edited then slotted in to the show which is scripting job, this is a post/pre-productions process as the editing is done after the recording of the VOX-pops however planed in pre-productions then used in productions. 




Market Share

The main competitors for Sheffield Live! are Hallam FM, Kiss and BBC Radio Sheffield. These are competitors as they broadcast range however they don't produce the variety what Sheffield Live! brings to the table. However certain shows like Talking Balls have rival shows for example like Football Heaven by BBC Radio Sheffield, however they are not shown at the same time so they do not directly compete.
